In short
Most Indian brands can run a meaningful micro-influencer campaign from roughly ₹25,000–₹50,000 in creator fees. What you actually pay depends on creator tier, format (Reel, Story, static), usage rights and exclusivity. Agency fees, product seeding and paid boosting come on top.
Indicative creator rates by tier
Creator pricing in India is not standardised. Every creator sets their own rate, and it moves with niche, city, language, format and demand. The table below shows the working ranges we plan with at CreatorChahiye for a single deliverable, along with a rough average to anchor your budget. Treat these as a starting point, not a quote.
For a deeper look at fee models and the questions to ask, read our guide to how influencer agencies charge in India.
| Creator tier | Typical followers | Indicative range | Rough average |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nano | 1K – 10K | ₹1,000 – ₹3,500 | ~₹2,200 |
| Micro | 10K – 50K | ₹3,500 – ₹25,000 | ~₹12,000 |
| Mid-micro | 50K – 200K | ₹25,000 – ₹1,00,000 | ~₹55,000 |
| Macro | 200K+ | Quoted case by case; usually well above ₹1,00,000 | Varies widely |
These are indicative planning ranges from our own campaign experience, not market statistics. A creator at the top of the micro tier with strong engagement can easily cost as much as one at the bottom of mid-micro. Rates vary further by niche (finance and tech usually cost more than lifestyle), city, format and whether usage rights are included.
What actually drives the price
- Audience, not just followers. A smaller creator with the right audience can cost less and convert better than a larger one with a mismatched audience.
- Format. A Reel takes more effort than a Story or a static post, so it usually costs more.
- Usage rights. If you want to reuse the content in your own ads or on your website, creators often charge extra for that licence.
- Exclusivity. Asking a creator not to work with competitors for a period raises the rate.
- Collab posts and turnaround. Instagram Collab posts and tight deadlines can both add to the quote.
- Number of deliverables. Bundling several Reels from one creator often brings a per-piece discount.
How agency fees usually work
If you hire an agency, expect a fee on top of creator costs. The common models are a percentage of creator cost, a flat per-campaign fee, or a monthly retainer. The important thing is transparency: you should always be able to see what each creator is paid and what the agency keeps.
At CreatorChahiye we charge a transparent management fee on top of creator costs, plus a small one-time creator shortlisting fee per campaign that covers manual sourcing and authenticity checks. Creators' rates are always shared with the brand.
A simple way to plan your first budget
As a rule of thumb, keep roughly three-quarters of the budget for creator fees and the rest for management, product seeding and any paid boosting. At around ₹50,000 you can usually work with a handful of nano and small-micro creators instead of one bigger name, which spreads risk and gives you more content to learn from, rather than betting the whole budget on one mid-micro creator.

How to avoid overpaying
- Ask for audience insights (top cities, age range) before agreeing a rate.
- Check engagement quality, not just the follower count. See our guide on choosing micro-influencers.
- Pay against clearly defined deliverables and deadlines.
- Put everything in a written agreement: deliverables, timeline, payment terms and usage rights.
- Start with a small pilot and scale what works.
Frequently asked questions
Is influencer marketing worth it for small budgets?
Yes, if you work with nano and micro creators whose audience matches your customer. Smaller budgets spread across several creators often teach you more than one expensive post.
How much do nano influencers charge in India?
Many nano creators (roughly 1K to 10K followers) work in the low thousands of rupees per deliverable, and some accept product-only collaborations if they genuinely like the product. Rates vary by niche and city.
Do agencies charge extra on top of creator fees?
Usually yes. Agencies add a management fee, either as a percentage of creator cost or as a flat fee. Ask for the breakdown so you can see what each creator is paid.
Can I pay creators only in products?
Sometimes, mainly with nano creators who already like the product. Larger creators generally expect cash payment. Product-only deals should still be agreed in writing.
