In short
Our creator network includes finance creators. Finance is a regulated area: ASCI expects creators who give investment advice to show relevant registration or qualifications, and to disclose them upfront. We build these checks and a clear disclosure into every written agreement. Brands in regulated categories should also take their own compliance advice.
Why finance creators
People trust the person who explains money simply. Finance creators can turn complex ideas into short, clear content, which suits fintech apps, savings and education products. The same trust makes accuracy and disclosure especially important.
The rules you need to know
ASCI's influencer guidelines require clear disclosure on any promotional post, using labels such as Ad, Sponsored, Collaboration or Partnership. In August 2023, ASCI added extra expectations for finance and health influencers.
- Creators giving investment advice are expected to show relevant registration or qualifications, for example SEBI registration for investment advice
- For other financial advice, qualifications such as CA, CS or an insurance licence are expected, as applicable
- These details should be disclosed prominently and upfront in the content
- Breaking the rules can bring penalties under consumer protection law
Rules change. Check the current ASCI and SEBI guidance, and take your own compliance advice for your category.
